Discussion with the historian Alexandra Schmidt, the artists Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp and Alex Samyi and Marie-Theres Grillitsch, women's representative from the City of Villach, on the topics of historical references and current representation of women in street names and sculptures in public space with special reference to Dora Kircher: “She went down in Villach’s women’s history as a pioneer of the women’s movement and politics: Dorothea ‚Dora‘ Kircher, whom we would probably call a ‚role model‘ today because of her life story.”

Alexandra Schmidt is a freelance historian living in Carinthia. Numerous publications, especially on the history of women and gender in Carinthia. Curator of the permanent women’s history exhibition “Drautöchtergalerie” in the town hall of Villach.

Barbara Ambrusch-Rapp is a freelance multimedia artist and cultural worker. Her focus includes identity | categorisation | gender roles. She lives and works in Velden. Exhibitions in Carinthia, Austria but also in Germany, Italy Spain, USA.

Alex Samyi is artist, curator and director of the Museum am Bach with a focus on art-based research on social models. He is creator from the sculptural intervention "Not Dora".
